What We Are Allowed
2018
oil on canvas

I’m dreaming of a place for all of us. With a very messy garden, bright pink next to soft peach, the coo of the Mourning Dove, plantain (miracle weed!), and the details of daydreams. I’ll teach you all I know of color, light, and Doberman’s. And you can show me where to find mugwort and how to sit in that murky unknown space where time moves both ways and you can remember forward and yes and no don’t exist. But it might be a while, because as she warns: time passes hard, and the task is the hardest thing we’ll ever do.
