I looked everywhere for you. In the waves, under rocks, I even picked up a huge heap of washed up bull kelp while hundreds of sand fleas hiding in the slimy ribbons jumped out, abandoning ship, and you weren't there either. I looked in my heart, in my trauma, I even looked in my soul, and then you started to appear. It was really hard to hold onto you though. I called you my little hermit crab because of how quickly you retreated into yourself once you were exposed. But now that I’ve found where you live, we can both relax and watch the tides come and go.
